My Kingston 64GB DataTraveler HyperX 3.0 Review

I still have my USB first flash drive that was given to me as a gift several years ago - 16MB (Yes - megabytes). The recent performance and capacity improvements in the flash drive industry is insane. Today I am holding a Kingston 64GB DataTraveler HyperX 3.0 - an awesome hunk of technology that boasts 8-Channel Architecture with USB 3.0 speeds of 225MB/s read and 135MB/s write capabilities. In real world terms, a standard CD sized file transferred over USB 2.0 took me about 35 seconds or so. This drive will accomplish the same feat in around 5 seconds. That's a huge performance gain. In the current world of storage designed to fit in your shirt pocket, this is a beast. 

Out of the box, the drive is well-designed and has a good professional feel to it with it's rubberized smooth metal design. No special drivers are required as my HP laptop instantly recognized it. It also has a lanyard slot so you can easily keep it attached to your body (or keychain, etc). It's good to know that this drive is backwards compatible with USB 2.0 but for optimum performance, you need to plug this bad boy into your USB 3.0 port. 

If you are looking for a general purpose drive to carry your Word documents around with you, this might not be the best fit for your money. But, if you're looking for extreme performance and high capacity for management of your HD media, system backups, and other demanding applications, this will be just what the doctor ordered. The drive comes with a 5-year warranty and comes from a long line of solid storage devices backed by the Kingston name. The DataTraveler HyperX 3.0 is also available in 128GB and 256GB versions. Wow.

Hotel Transylvania

Hotel Transylvania is a wonderful family movie with a great message about letting our kids "spread their wings" (literally in this case). A ton of memorable and recognizable characters in this movie (voice by some big talent),  not to mention some great 3D animation makes this a must-see movie for you and your family. All the famous monsters are at the Hotel, but not too scary for the younger set. Be sure to check this out as I rate this a pre-Halloween "Must-See" this season. 

Hotel Transylvania opens September 28, 2012

The movie is focused around Count Dracula and his desire to create a safe vacation haven for his fellow monsters. You and your family will have a great movie adventure following the Count as he creates monstrous luxury while dealing with his "teenage" daughter (just turning 118) and her desire to see the world.

 

Things get complicated when Johnathan, a 21-year old human arrives (somewhat accidentally) on the scene. The Count, in an effort to hide Johathan, makes him up as "Johnnystein", Frankenstein's cousin. The daughter, Mavis, begins to have feelings for Johnnystein and does not know he is human. It's a great story and you will find out exactly what it means to ZING!

Disney the happiest place on earth!

What is it about being at Disney or even thinking about Disney - all of a sudden you feel like a kid and are transported back to being your childhood.  You get excited when you think about Cinderella's castle and the characters like Mickey and Minnie, Goofy, and so many many more...I would love to take my family and spend a little while in this magical place.  Just thinking about visiting Disney World I get all excited.  I would love to see the inside of Cinderalla's castle and stay for the fireworks..I love love love Disney and the fact is I would love to be able to take my family there again.

We were lucky to get to go to Disney in 2010 but could only stay for a day.  I would love to be able enjoy all that Disney has to offer.  To be able to share this opportunity with my children would be amazing.  Disney - just to hear it's name is magic and all of a sudden all your worries and troubles melt away.  Some day I'm going to live in FL but for now just being able to go back and spend it at Disney World with my family would be awesome!  Thanks BodylogicMD and Disney for the chance!

Ironman Armored Adventures Season 2 VOL.2

 “Iron Man: Armored Adventures” follows Tony Stark, 16-year-old inventor and heir to the billion-dollar corporation Stark International, as he battles the enemies of world peace with his revolutionary armor technology.  Growing up, Tony had always lived a life of luxury, but everything went horribly wrong when a tragic plane accident robbed him of his father and nearly cost him his own life. Eager to honor the memory of his dad, Tony now uses his suit of invincible armor and technical know-how to protect those who would also fall prey to tragedy, corruption and conspiracy.  With help from his friends Rhodey and Pepper Potts, Tony’s activities as Iron Man result in nonstop high-octane action. 

Team up with Tony Stark and his friends in the next 6 episodes of Season 2, as he continues his fierce battle to prevent the stolen Iron Man technology from being used for evil.  Iron Man faces an enemy like none other when the villainous Doctor Doom sets his sights on the Iron Man tech. I enjoyed watching this with my 2 sons...  I think Ironman Armored Adventures Season 2 vol 2 is an adventure for the whole family.  Their favorite was the "The Hawk And The Spider" episode.  I thought that the animations were well done.  It was still fun to watch the episodes with my kids and know that even though they are getting older that they still like to watch Super Heros with their mom!

Beverly Hills Chihuahua-3 movie day

This was a really cute movie...Papi and Chloe, joined by their five playful pups and their owners Rachel and Sam move into the posh Langham Hotel, complete with a luxurious doggy spa. But there's trouble when Rosa, the littlest member of the pack, feels smaller and less special than the others. Now it's up to Papi to help Rosa find and celebrate her inner strength, which turns out to be bigger than she ever dreamed.

 I watched this movie with my 2 sons - really a cute movie.  There were a lot of "Oh, how cute that puppy is" and a lot of giggles when seeing the costumes.  But I had a great time cuddling up with my boys and watching a family movie.  It was nice to shut off the xbox for a little family time...even my husband watched!

I loved all the cute little outfits that the dogs had in this movie..too cute...and little Chloe can really play the piano!  Made me want to go out and take piano lessons.  Hey, if a Chihuahua can do it, why can't I ;).

Now these little pups really made me laugh.  They really have some talent.

 This really is Viva La Fiesta!
