Legoland Birthday!

Legoland Birthday!

We had such a fun time at Legoland!  There is so much to do and see.  It's amazing what they can do with Legos!  My youngest had a great 9th birthday.  This is a great park for kids of all ages - I think that the 6-12 set will throughly enjoy it.  The rides are fun and are very kid-friendly (See my photos below).

You should definitely consider taking your Lego fan to the great park. It is easily accessible from Orlando and   Tampa. There is ample parking close to the park. Upon our arrival, my boys immediately wanted to ride The Dragon roller coaster. It is a great coaster for kids - just enough thrill factor (but not too much - also, did I mention it has a DRAGON theme?). My boys loved it!  They immediately hopped on the Merlin ride which is a very nice 'medium-thrill' around-and-around ride.

We had a great time at the Imagination Zone - since it was very hot that day, this indoor (air conditioned) attraction was much appreciated. I tried to stretch out that stop as long as possible :).  My 9-year old made a race car from Legos. Legoland has several types of race tracks where you can test out your creation.

The Legoland miniature area is absolutely amazing and is a must-see! This is an area modeled after many areas around the globe with some specialty Lego builds as well. If you want to see what is possible to build using Legos, then do yourself a favor and spend an hour in the miniature area.

Our favorite ride as a family was Flying School. This is a suspended roller coaster that takes you through several exciting twists and turns.  My 9-year old thought this was a great ride! This one was definitely a hit for the entire family! Another exciting roller coaster at Legoland is Coastersaurus. Unfortunately, the line was a little long when we were in this area (it's very popular), but upon our return to Legoland, we will be making a beeline to Coastersaurus!

Another hit with my family was Lost Kingdom Adventure. In this ride, you fire lasers at various bad guys and targets throughout the ride. My boys had a great time firing their lasers and racking up the points. The interactive ride is very well done and highly recommended.

The Safari Trek is a great little ride showcasing what the Lego Masters can build in the animal kingdom. Absolutely amazing! Be sure to check this ride out with your Lego / animal lover!

If you have younger kids, they will have a great time as well. With areas such as the Duplo Village catering to the younger set, Legoland has done a great job of focusing on all age groups of kids.

We found the staff at Legoland to be very helpful and extremely friendly. Whether in the ticket line, Imagination Zone, or somewhere else in the park, the staff were always courteous, patient, and professional. In addition, many of the staff carry around Lego mini-figures that the kids can swap (similar to Disney pin trading).

At the end of the day, we had a great time at Legoland Florida. We didn't get to ride everything, but we will definitely return to check out our favorites and try some new things. When in Central Florida, be sure to put Legoland Florida on your list and be prepared to have a ton of fun and just be amazed at what can be done with these extremely popular little plastic blocks!!

Wow! How impressive! It's definitely on our watch list for the future - neither of my boys are quite ready for the all out fun that this appears to be ;-)

My grandson and I enjoyed Legoland too. I'm taking him back so we can spend the day there.

You know, I lived in Florida for 3 years and hadn't made it to Lego Land. We are taking a family trip there in December. Sounds like something to put on the agenda!
